Relevant Experience:
I work for one of the high-street banks as a
software developer, creating systems that are used
pan-island (Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man) by up to several
hundred users at a time, all provided with the inevitable
MI suites.
I have been developing systems since 2000, using the
Microsoft Office suite in tandem with Visual Basic for
Applications. I have an extensive knowledge of Excel and
Access in particular, but have also prepared many
presentations for senior management using Powerpoint (and,
more recently, my preferred presentation tool: Apple's "Keynote").
I also recently developed, tested, migrated and delivered a
relatively complex application to a local Trust company in
place of their original developers, who deemed the
operations the client required as 'impossible', which
turned out to be wholly inaccurate.
I have delivered the Web Design unit of a Higher National
Certificate at the Guernsey College of Further Education.
This involved delivering the unit curriculum to a group of
8 adults over 12 three hour sessions. Most of the class
were actually senior to me, but this did not pose a problem
and all students passed the unit with distinctions. I have
also delivered training sessions, presentations and
materials at my place of work.
